A farm that has grown in stages has a waste system that was never designed, only extended.
What usually applies
- A short screening from bird count or head count, litter volumes, moisture content and site layout.
- Digestion or co-digestion where moisture, contamination and volume support it, sized to the farm.
- Odour and wastewater treatment at source as the first deliverable, with energy as the second.
What usually does not
- Dry broiler litter on its own. It composts or fires; it does not digest well without a wet co-substrate.
- A plant that requires trucking manure between farms across a biosecurity boundary.
