Mechanical Technician
Job Brief:
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician to support the operation and maintenance of an 18TPH Biomass Boiler. The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for assembling, installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical components and systems to ensure the continuous and safe operation of the boiler and auxiliary equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair pumps, valves, pipes, conveyors, heat exchangers, gearboxes, and other mechanical components in the boiler system.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of rotating and static equipment to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, vibration issues, and misalignments in plant machinery.
- Perform alignment, balancing, and lubrication of mechanical systems to ensure smooth operation.
- Work with the Welding and Fabrication Team for pipe fitting and structural repairs.
- Follow permit-to-work (PTW), lockout-tagout (LOTO), and hot work safety procedures during maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with DOLE Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) standards and DENR environmental regulations.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and P&ID diagrams for troubleshooting and installations.
- Maintain proper logbooks, maintenance records, and reports for all mechanical activities.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment when required.
Qualifications:
- TESDA NC II or III Certification in Machining, Fitting, or Mechanical Maintenance is required.
- At least 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter in power plants, biomass, industrial facilities, or manufacturing plants.
- Strong knowledge of boiler auxiliary systems, piping, bearings, seals, and rotating equipment.
- Familiarity with pump alignment, gearbox maintenance, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
- Experience in fabrication, welding, and machining is an advantage.
- Strong adherence to safety procedures, risk assessments, and maintenance best practices.
- Multi-torch, plasma and oxy cutting experience
- Knowledge and expertise with various steel and metals
- Physically fit and willing to work in shifts, emergency call-outs, and scheduled plant shutdowns.
