Fuel Helper
Job Brief:
We are looking for a Fuel Helper & Cleaner to assist in the handling, storage, and feeding of biomass fuel for the 18TPH Biomass Boiler and to maintain cleanliness and safety in the fuel yard, boiler area, and plant facilities. The ideal candidate must be physically fit, hardworking, and safety-conscious, with experience in industrial or heavy-duty cleaning and material handling.
Responsibilities:
- Fuel Handling:
- Assist in the unloading, stacking, and movement of biomass fuel (multifuel boiler) to the storage area.
- Ensure continuous feeding of fuel into the boiler system as directed by the Team leader.
- Help in monitoring fuel quality and reporting any foreign materials or contamination.
- Operate basic material handling tools such as shovels, rakes, and hand carts.
- Cleaning & Housekeeping:
- Maintain cleanliness of the fuel yard, boiler area, and surrounding plant facilities.
- Remove ash, dust, and debris from equipment and work areas to ensure safe operations.
- Assist in manual sweeping, mopping, and pressure washing of plant floors and machinery.
- Collect and properly dispose of solid waste, ash, and non-hazardous residues from operations.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow safety procedures, permit-to-work (PTW) policies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Assist in spill containment and cleanup in case of fuel leaks or ash spills.
- Participate in safety drills, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
- Report any unsafe conditions, fuel supply issues, or mechanical malfunctions to the Shift In-Charge.
Qualifications:
- At least a high school graduate or TESDA NC I/II Certification in relevant fields is a plus.
- Previous experience in material handling, cleaning, or industrial maintenance is an advantage.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, and performing manual labor in a demanding environment.
- Familiarity with biomass fuel (wood shaving and rice husk / coconut husk & shell) and ash handling is preferred.
- Ability to work in hot, dusty, and noisy environments with proper PPE.
- Willing to work shifts, overtime, and during plant emergencies or shutdowns.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, teamwork, and cleanliness.
