Telehandler Operator
Job Brief:
We are looking for a skilled Telehandler Operator to support the fuel and ash handling operations of an 18TPH Biomass Boiler. The operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a telehandler to transport biomass fuel (multi-fuel boiler) and manage ash disposal.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a telehandler to transport, load, and unload biomass fuel and ash.
- Assist in fuel yard management, ensuring proper stacking and handling of biomass materials.
- Safely dispose of ash and other waste materials according to environmental regulations.
- Conduct pre-start and post-operation inspections of the telehandler to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the telehandler and report any mechanical issues.
- Follow permit-to-work (PTW) procedures and adhere to safety standards set by the company and government agencies (DOLE, DENR, etc.).
- Coordinate with the Fuel/Ash Handling Operators and Plant Operators to ensure smooth operations.
- Comply with load limits and handling requirements to prevent damage to equipment or fuel stockpiles.
- Participate in safety drills, toolbox talks, and operational training as required.
- Maintain accurate log sheets and operation records as required by plant management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- TESDA NC II Certification in Heavy Equipment Operation (Telehandler or similar equipment) is required.
- Professional Driver with driving restrictions 1, 2, 3, and 8.
- At least two (2) years of experience as a Telehandler Operator, preferably in a power plant, industrial facility, or construction site.
- Knowledge of DOLE Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) standards and DENR environmental regulations for fuel and ash handling.
- Experience in biomass fuel handling (wood chips, rice husk, bagasse, etc.) is a plus.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance on the vehicle daily and assists in performing minor repairs.
- Physically fit and capable of handling manual labor when required.
- Strong attention to safety, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
- Willingness to work in shift schedules and during emergencies if required.
- Willing to work overtime as required.
